JATIMTIMES - Ketersediaan air di Kota Malang dipastikan tetap aman sepanjang tahun. Kondisi ini membuat petani tak perlu cemas menghadapi musim kemarau.

Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Pertanian Kota Malang, Slamet Husnan, memastikan suplai air berjalan lancar. Baik saat musim hujan maupun kemarau, kondisi relatif stabil. “Alhamdulillah di wilayah Kota Malang selama satu tahun penuh ini, ketersediaan air cukup lancar,” ujar Slamet.

Ia menjelaskan, kondisi ini ditopang faktor alam dan infrastruktur. Salah satunya keberadaan lima sungai yang menopang kebutuhan air pertanian. Selain itu, sistem irigasi teknis juga menjadi kunci utama. Jaringan tersebut membantu distribusi air tetap merata ke lahan pertanian. “Pertanian di Kota Malang, utamanya komoditi padi, cukup tersedia airnya karena irigasi teknis,” tegasnya.

Slamet juga mengacu pada prakiraan cuaca dari BMKG. Ia menyebut musim kemarau di Jawa Timur tahun ini tergolong sedang. Menurutnya, hingga akhir April hujan masih berpotensi turun. Kondisi ini semakin memperkuat ketersediaan air di lapangan. “Untuk wilayah Jawa Timur, musim kemarau masuk kategori sedang. Sampai akhir April masih ada hujan,” jelasnya.

Dengan kondisi tersebut, ancaman El Nino dinilai tidak signifikan. Dampaknya terhadap sektor pertanian di Kota Malang relatif kecil. “Dengan musim kemarau kategori sedang, itu tidak terlalu berpengaruh adanya El Nino,” katanya.

Ia menegaskan, petani padi tetap mendapat suplai air yang cukup. Hal ini menjaga produktivitas pertanian tetap stabil. “Selama satu tahun penuh ini ketersediaan air cukup. Petani, khususnya penanam padi, suplai airnya tersedia,” pungkasnya.
